My friend Gerri and I decided to just go for it and go see Donald Trump in person when he came to The Woodlands, TX. The Marriott is about 3 miles from my house. With the help of my husband, we parked one of our cars not far from the Marriott about 12 noon. Gerri came to my house about 5:30 and my husband dropped us off not far from where the car was parked. We started walking toward the Marriott and noticed people passing us going in the opposite direct. Found out they were headed to the end of the line to get into the rally. Luckily, we had a very short walk to start our long wait-although it was probably a good 4 or more blocks to the entrance to the Marriott. We got to know the people around us. And what fun it was to people watch for the next 3 hours while slowly moving forward. And YES, it was hot especially the parts of the line that were in direct sunlight. Thankfully, it was shaded a good part of the way. Since no cameras with detachable lens were allowed, I took my little Sony Point and Shoot. I think it did a pretty good job capturing the flavor of the rally.
You may like Mr. Trump, or you maybe you can't stand the guy. I don't care. Just wanted to tell my story about what it was like to attend a Trump Rally in Texas June, 2016. And that's the way it is... :-)
